Random musings on a writer's life & times, with occasional input from acquaintances

Hey! I’m answering the Sunday 7 two weeks in a row! How about that? Diligence, thy name is Dave.
1) What are you wearing?
A white toga, sandals and a laurel-wreath crown.
2) What are you reading?
Still plodding through Michael Chabon’s juvenile opus “Summerland.” When he sticks to the story, the novel zips right along. When he starts blabbing about Coyote, the tree of life, alternate universes and how they work, snorrrrrrrrrre.
3) What’s for dinner?
Nothing good. I’m trying to diet. In the month since I popped the waist button off a pair of my slacks, I have lost one and a half pounds. At this rate, I’ll reach my target weight in 2021.
4) What’s the best thing that happened this week?
I was elected president of Peru.
5) What’s bugging you?
I seem to have pulled a muscle in my right buttock. Is this a pain in the butt (both literally and figuratively), or what? It’s my reward for being tidy. I hurt myself vacuuming the floor of the garage yesterday. (One has to be a contortionist to vacuum around and over all the disintegrating boxes of books, abandoned skateboards, dust-coated bicycles, rusting golf clubs, hookless bungee cords, half-empty bottles of carwash soap, cobweb-infested firewood bins and what-have-you.) Now losing weight is going to be even more difficult, since gimping through a three-mile walk every other day lacks a certain appeal.
6) Where in the world is Carmen San Diego?
Yellow House, Pennsylvania.
7) What’s it all about, Dave?
I feel rather Edgar Allan Poe-ish today. Poe wrote:
"All that we see or seem is but a dream within a dream."
